Photoshoot 2(C2): Never-Never Land
DETAILS: For this challenge you'll be taking 6 photos of inspirational landscapes. Incorporate your surrounding area, and what you see. Is your world currently dry, brittle, and bleak? Show us. Are you experiencing green grass and bright colors? What about snow or rain? Use angles that you wouldn't normally see, and capture interesting natural lighting. Please no man-made objects in these photos, and no humans or animals.
IMAGES: All photos must be either 800x600. THEY SHOULD BE IN COLOR! 6 PHOTOS!
PHOTOSHOOTS: Challenge 2 Photoshoots
Critique--------
Winner: Kerem - You're submissions by far stand out the most because they don't use the traditional blues and purples that we see so often in landscape photographs. We like the style of your shots, however we feel that the colours are slightly repetitive. Yes, you followed a unique style as described in the challenge description, but one of us feel you could have captured different aspects of this bleak environment. Photo 001 shouldn't have so much foreground unless there is an object to disrupt the constant texture. Despite this; nice selection.
Mandy -Interesting angles! We really like how Spring Time Sunset and Spring Time Hills really contrast each other in style. I particularly like the colour and variety in your pieces, and how you have decided to use different locations to fit into the description. We wish that "Afternoon" was sharper though.
Muge - Great use of textures and it's clear that the texture is the most important part of the photographs. Try not to watch your horizon and use rule of thirds. However we don't think the shots fully fit the description. These photos seem to focus on the sky much more than the actual qualities of the landscapes...and although they are nicely captured, we think the artist could have made more effort to find something land bound to photograph.
Muhammad - Awesome vignetting and post production adjustments for color and contrast. We like the blacked out horizon but wish that either it had more detail in it or was closer to the bottom of the photograph since it seems to be more of a frame. Again, lots of sky but this is balanced by the use of silohuettes. we love the variety of colours in this series.
Rebecca - Great locations! Lovely colour captured in the ocean here, and a nice variety of different times have been photographed. All of the colors and composition is dead on. We just didn't like that a lot of highlights were blown out (particularly in the sky). We like these shots, but they don't grab us like other waterscapes tend to.
